Vikash Singh (423065) | asked Apr 14 '15, 9:18 a.m.
Hi,

I have installed the RTC 5.0 on server system, When I logged in in DNG then trying to create an artifact type then I am getting the below error. I also checked permission and roles.  Due to this I could not able to create artifact type and attribute. How to resolve this issue?

ID CRRRW7558E  The message that follows might indicate why the server does not permit the operation. To troubleshoot this issue, ask your server administrator to check the server configuration. For more information about the cause of the error, check the message details. Also, ensure that the required licenses are installed and activated, and that they have not expired. To check your licenses, from the Jazz Team Server administration pages, click Server > License Key Management. If you have correct and up-to-date licenses and are an administrator, check the fronting.properties file in the /server/conf/rm directory to ensure that the file contains the correct server name and port number. If you are not an administrator, ask a server administrator to check the fronting.properties file.

Hi Vikash, can you elaborate more on how the user is setup? What repository permission, what license(s) assigned, what role(s) in the project does your user have?
Also what are the steps you are executing? You are at the project properties page and creating a new artifact type, right?
And last, can you have a look at the rm.log file, and see if there is additional (error) information?

Hello Vikash,
I see the "Rational DOORS Next Generation Analyst" license has not been activated.  If the user is a member of the project and has the proper roles, then assign the analyst license and then test creating a type/attribute.

Floating License Server

Once Floating or Token type Client Access License Activation keys are installed, this server acts as a floating license server. Floating and Token Client Access Licenses can be shared by multiple users on this server and/or other servers and acquired when needed if a copy of that license is available or the required tokens can be acquired on behalf of the user by the floating license server. Servers can gain access to these Floating and Token licenses by specifying this server using the Edit action on the Floating License Server row in the Server Information section. Users must be assigned access to one of the installed Floating or Token license types in order to participate in the pool of users sharing the available licenses of that type.

In order to enable this floating license server to serve Token or External license type Client Access Licenses, you must configure an external license service provider. An external license service provider may have the capability to provide tokens, external licenses, or both. The configured provider will be contacted to acquire tokens or external licenses when the floating license server is asked for either of those license types.

Right, you can be an administrator of the project area, even have the JazzAdmin repository role assigned, but without the RDNG Analyst license assigned, you will not be able modify the project properties.
