Default variables populated by the report wizard for generating document style reports?
![]()
I'm creating a custom report template in RPE 1.3.
In the standard reports (e.g. printModuleBook.dta) I see quite a few external variables, which seems to be populated with context specific values by the report wizard (like author, _projectURI, _moduleURI, _useWordDOT, ...).
I try to understand, which variables are automatically filled with context specific data.
Is there some documentation available, which describes such default variables?
Thanks

![]() I've not found any documentation describing the specific variables used in that report, but here are a couple of good resources: Look at "Configuring Rational Publishing Engine variables for the Report wizard" at https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/RRCCustomRRDGReportsConfigurations Prompting for variable values: http://rpeactual.com/2011/12/05/prompting-for-variable-values/ Hope this helps a bit. There is not much documentation in this area that I can find. However there are some hints that can be useful:
This does not describe those specific variables but does describe how such underscore prefixed external variables can be used to pass parameters from the wizard: https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/RRCCustomRRDGReportsConfigurations#Configuring_Rational_Publish_AN1 And this describes the general process of modifying those templates, with a brief mention to the URI external variables: https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/RRCModifyQuickPrintModuleRRDGReports |
