How do you get the RQM-Excel-Importer Add-In to work without Excel disabling it every time you start Excel?

I am using Excel 2010.  I installed the RQMExcelImporterX64 application.  I was not able to see the RQM Add-In using version 5.0, so I went back to an earlier version, 4.0.5, that I had run successfully on another laptop.  I was able to get that one to work.  I then installed the RQMWordImporter, and it would not start properly with the Add-In.  It was in the disabled Add-Ins section, so I enabled it and made it an active Add-In and it won't start with the Add-In enabled.

Now I am getting that same error for Excel!!  When I enable the Add-In, it restarts Excel and then it comes up with the message "Excel experienced a serious problem with the 'mso2rqm excel add-in' add-in.  If you have seen this message multiple times, you should disable this add-in and check to see if an update is available.  Do you want to disable this add-in?"  If I say no, then it just shuts down Excel.  If I say yes, then it allows me into Excel, but if I re-enable the add-in, then I get the same error message.

I uninstalled version 4.0.5 and installed version 5.0 and I am still getting the same error.

Any idea how to get Excel to run with this add-in and not disable it?

In the downloaded zip file there are a few installers. Even on a 64bit OS I just executed the install file RQMExcelImporterSetup.exe

This worked. With the others I had also a few issues.

Hi Donat,

I have tried that one already too.  When I install that version, then the add-in does not show up at all in Excel, not even in the Disabled add-ins section.

Do you have Office 64bit installed?

Yes, I do.
