RTC WI Description Attribute: Table or at least other font possible?

Thomas Mueller (622) | asked Jan 28 '15, 9:14 a.m.
My customer needs to show information in the RTC WI description field (or elsewhere in the WI form) as a table (Web Client). This seems not to be possible. Or is there a solution?
If not it would help if the font in the description field could be changed to one with a fixed width. So they could build up kind of tables with - and | characters. Is this possible?

the syntax appears to be linked from here
https://jazz.net/blog/index.php/2010/12/03/whats-new-in-rational-team-concert-3-0-part-v-work-item-enhancements/

to here (syntax)

http://www.wikicreole.org/

of course, neither the description or comment fields are defined as wiki type..

Thanks Sam. I knew it was described somewhere.

Plus, I looked into the description and the external one also provides the syntax for a table. this actually works in a Wiki Attribute (RTC 5.0.2) The syntax is:

|=id |=What |=test |
|1| abc | defghijk |
|2| defg | defghijk |
|12| hijklm | defghijk |
|13| this is a really long one | lorem ipsumĀ  |

have you tried the "Wiki" attribute type based custom field?

I think it does not support all Wiki syntaxes though. (P.S: I am still trying to figure out which syntaxes are supported. Cannot find anywhere (:-( )

In the web UI, in edit mode, is a question mark over the presentation that explains the WIKI syntax.

Wiki does not support table as far as I can see.

HTML does not support tables (for manual editing at least)

I tried a Wiki Type Attribute in CLM 5.0.2. Does not work. Syntax is very restricted. It's not even possible to paste a table from RRC editor.
What about the fixed width font?

See Sam's hint below. In wiki a table is described using

|= |=table|=header |
|1| abc | defghijk |
|2| defg | defghijk |
|12| hijklm | defghijk |
|13| this is a really long one | lorem ipsumĀ  |

A wish list of mine to be able to create a table - alas there is no option, and no unfortunately there is no font option. The only way you can see "other fonts" is on the dashboard in a "headline" widget, but its not possible (yet) at the work item level that I'm aware of.

Tables can be created, but they require custom coding (see the time tracking section) and plugins to the RTC back end.
