URGENT How can I disable the 'Deliver and Resolve Work Item' function so that people can checkin and deliver?

My name is Marco working in social services as an RTC administrator. This is version 4.0. We have not set up preconditions or operational behaviour and have disabled work items because we are not ready for the enterprise to use this functionality yet. For some reason one of the developers is checking in and delivering a crucial change but only sees an option to deliver and resolve work items. No one else is experiencing this and his priveleges are the same as everyone else. There are no deliver options, no checkin options no checkin and deliver options nothing.......Its never happened to anyone else in the team. What could be the cause?

I looked up related artefacts and they have none related...I got them to try and and deliver it anyways and it forces them to create a work item even though we do not have wi's configured.

They are actually using RSA plugged into RTC version 4.0

All I want them to be able to do is checkin and deliver the change with their comment ... not to have to open up changeset permissions for all my develoeprs.

This is urgent as its for a fix that needs to be deployed in the next few days. Tried attaching screenshot but jazz.net does not allow it.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated !!!

Since only one of your developers is seeing this behavior, I think you will need to work with Rational Support to figure out what is happening.  The "checkin" and "checkin and deliver" options should be available to everyone (in fact, I wouldn't know how to turn them off if I wanted to).

Well, you could if you wanted to (see: https://rsjazz.wordpress.com/2014/03/24/hiding-ui-contributions-in-the-rtc-eclipse-client/ ), but that is clearly not what you want.
I would also consider to work with support to be able to figure what is wrong with the Eclipse client. Other easy options are:

  • Check the Eclipse Logs and try a different workspace
  • Install a Plain ZIP version of the client in another location and see if this works.

Only way I know is to edit each client runtime file and remove the menu item.
this is not configurable. and not documented how to make this kind of modification

you are one step worse... you don't have workitems.

this blog article explains how to ADD a menu item, but may give you insight how to remove one.
