why RAM setup page does not load after installation

anoop mc (74811200221) | asked Aug 28 '14, 2:06 a.m.
 Dear team,

We are planning to setup a new RAM 7.5.2.1 environment with DB2 10 and WAS 8.0

Have installed all the tools successfully with the default option.

Note: Since WAS does not come as embedded in RAM have installed it separately.During RAM installation pointed out to the WAS install directory.I did this installation using a administrative local account account created in the server.

When it comes to configuration we are getting page cannot be displayed error.

http://<Server FQDN>:9080/ram.setup  it says page cannot be displayed.

I am following the online documentation for the configuration - http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSUS84_7.5.2.1/com.ibm.ram.installguide.doc/topics/t_configure_setup_asst.html?cp=SSUS84_7.5.2.1

Can anyone suggest how to go about in troubleshooting. As per the documentation we can start the configuration after bringing the setup page.

Hi,
1. The first thing you could check is go to http://<server>:9060/ibm/console and go to Applications->Application Types->WebSphere enterprise applications to check if com.ibm.ram.repository.setup.web.ear has been installed. If not, please install it first, the original ear file should be in the cd.
2. If you have installed the setup ear, you could go to Servers->Server Types->WebSphere application servers->server1(might be your server name)->Ports   to see which port is for WC_defaulthost. You could use that port to access into ram setup.
3. Be a quick try, you could go directly to try 9081,9082 .....

Thanks a lot.

 Hi,

The console window does not open for me - http://<server>:9060/ibm/console  it says page cannot be displayed.

I suspect there is some services associated with this. Have already rebooted the server after the installation and looks strange to me.

When I verified another machine of a similar setup go to see some services like WAS IBM HTTP Servers etc is missing in current installation.

The below is a snapshot of the related services I have captured from other machine.

As suggested by one of team now I am trying to get the WAS downloaded from the jazz.net page.

as https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-asset-manager/releases/7.5.2.1?p=optionalPrograms it look like is a trial version. How to make the trial a licensed one.

I am not finding an option to download the licensed version of RAM 7.5.2.1 supported WAS. The document seems outdated as the WAS which I downloaded show as 8.5.5.3. As per document it is 8.0

Installation is progressing now and waiting to see how it goes.

The other thing which I noticed is the Profile folder missing under WAS installation directory which needs to be specified while installing RAM  - C:\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\AppSrv01

Next trial is to change the installation location to a different drive other than C:\ the default one.

Hi,

I think you might have not created the profile first, so there are no AppSrv01 under profiles folder. You don't need to try installing into C:\, just create a application server profile. To do this, please open Profile Management Tool, you could find it from "Start".

Thanks .
