User Administration: Issue with Duplicate User Account
Hello,
I am facing a strage problem (with saving a user's email configuration) as there are duplicate user accounts in Jazz registry mapped to the same id. Error message attached.
I have gone through few other discussions here and understand that complete removal of a user account is not allowed; we can only archive a user account. Howerver, I am encountering a situation where removal of user account appears to be the only solution. Could you please offer any help here?
Background:
- CLM v. 4.0.2.
- Jazz registry is synched with LDAP for authentication
- Initially when the user account was set up there were multiple changes made and multiple user accounts were imported into Jazz from LDAP
- I could see at least two different user ids for this individual; the differnce exists only in the casing of the first letter of user id. One user id starts with an upper case 'K' and the other user id begins with a lower case 'k'. Rest all characters are exactly the same in both user ids.
- I have archived the id with upper case 'K' and removed RTC license from it
- The user id with lower case 'k' was also archived, license was revoked; this is just to ensure I have all records clean
- Later I restored the user id with lower case 'k' and assigned an RTC license; here I noticed even the user id with upper case 'K' also got the same license assigned to it automatically. This indicates both the user ids are still mapped to each other.
- I am still unable to make any changes to the user's email preferences and be able to 'save' those changes due to the same error.
Thanks,
Sourish

Okay; on further investigation looks like the following Jazz and Technotes have a clue to it. But this requires a server downtime and I am not sure how safe this is to try on a Production environment (I am worried about the smooth re-integration of Jazz with LDAP after changes are made as this can impact all users if there are issues with Jazz/LDAP synch later) -

You might be able to get rid of it by changing the user ID see tech-note mentioned in http://rsjazz.wordpress.com/2012/10/12/changing-the-jazz-user-id-using-the-rtc-plain-java-client-libraries/ . Mind the artifacts associated with the user ID you remove.
