There seems to be 3 predefined queries that can't be removed.
New unassigned, Open assigned to me, and Recently Created
According to this post that's normal
I have an extra Open assigned to me but no Open assigned to me (current sprint)
Open assigned to me (current sprint) is available in the default template and can be deleted.

I was just curious if anyone knew when the Open assigned to me (current sprint) was added to the default templates

Hello Karl,

the oldest version I have installed on my laptop is 3.0.1.3, and it already contains "Open assigned to me (current sprint)".
In fact, I found a workitem filed for version 2.0, which deals with renaming this query from "current spring":
https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Rational%20Team%20Concert#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=79687, so this query seems to be a very old addition.
