Can you merge Artifact Containers into a new Lifecycle Project?

Robert Carter (42928790) | asked Jan 29 '14, 12:34 p.m.
On the terminology side we introduced “Lifecycle Project” to refer to the network of linked project areas. These project areas are the containers for all the artifacts that can be linked to each other. In the context of a lifecycle project we therefore call them “Artifact Containers”. This name also emphasizes that artifact containers may be realized differently than by project areas.

I know that it is possible to add multiple containers of the same type, Like CCM, to an LPA.  But, is it possible to merge two CCMs together?  We are trying to merge LPA's together.  So, If I move/add an artifact container to another LPA then and then archive the old LPA, does the artifact container that was copied to the new LPA get archived also?

Are there other options besides the copy of work items from one project to another?  We are trying to preserve existing IDs, history, etc.  Other options should consider RRC and RQM as well.

sadly there is no function to merge CCMs, nor copy them anywhere. and certainly you cannot preserve IDs or History.

also no function to copy a project area (replicate)..
