All Projects are visible, how to configure visibility of prj

Hans Kaiser (514) | asked Mar 06 '09, 4:45 a.m.
Hello,

I am very new to the JAZZ. I have installed my Express-C. Everything seems to work quite fine. So far the setup is very easy and understandable. *compliment*

Now I have created multiple projects, and I have assigned users to some of the new projects. My expectation was, that only the projects the user is registered/member of are accessible. In this case every user can see every available project.

How can I configure RTC to hide other projects, the user isn't member of?

Best regards,
Hans

This is how RTC works today - you can see every project on the server. You do need specific permissions to alter or create stuff.

There is a plan to change this in 2.0 to restrict access on a per-project basis - see:

Whoops - good point. jazz.net runs on the latest milestone builds of RTC, and you have access to these from the downloads page if you want to try these out.

1.0.1.1 is the current version on sale.

Hello,

thanks for your answers!

I have installed the current 2.0.M2.D1 (express-c). I couldn't find any reference how to protect access to some of the projects. Any hints there to find it?

best regards

Hi

You are way ahead of me - I have not had a chance to try out 2.0 builds yet, so not sure where to look. Hopefully, someone else will be able to suggest how to do this - I am interested in this too.

Hi

Looking at this topic https://jazz.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3930 it seems like not all of this capability is available in the 2.0 beta. It looks like you need to be patient for a little longer. My apologies, I didn't realize it was not yet all enabled.
