RTC SCM Web UI Component Write access

 Hi

Working with a group of fairly non-technical people and they are divided into teams.

Project Team
- Team Area 1
- Team area 2
- Team area 3

We are using the Web UI for SCM to upload files, create directories, etc.

We have a single stream and a component for each team

Project stream
- Component 1
- Component 2
- Component 3

Each component has the owner set to the matching team with the visibility set to that team.

So far so good, only those people in the team can see the component associated to it.

The problem I need resolving is that they cannot use the Web UI to upload files, create directories etc. e.g. they only have read access.

Only if they are in the project team can they upload files to the component. The last thing I need is having people added at the project level as well as the team to be able to do this.

Hi Nigel,

Which version of RTC are you using ?

Did you set the Component1 owner to Team area1 ?

Are you expecting all the users to add files into Component1 ( members of Team area1)

Please let me know if you have a different use-case.

Version 4.0.3 of RTC

Yes the component owner is set to the matching team.

Only members of team area 1 should be able to add to component 1, but any member of that team should be able to.

So Yes I believe that you understand the use case!
