How do I delete files that are already managed by RTC?

joe meagher (6612) | asked Feb 10 '09, 9:05 p.m.
I am attempting to delete a file from RTC and can't find a way to make it happen.

When i attempt to right-click and choose delete, it removes from the files system, then when I check-in says "Attempting to delete an item that is not present in the configuration"

How do I delete a file or folder from the repository?

Thanks,

joe

Joe

For files that are shared with the Jazz/RTC SCM you should be able just
delete them and have the change show up in an Outgoing change set. But
for a project you need to "unshare" it with the SCM by selecting the
project and then choosing the Team > Delete from Repository... context menu.

I have never seen the "Attemping to delete..." message. Where are you
seeing that, and maybe you can post a screenshot?

I hope this helps

i have but it involves deleting a file then a communication error happens with the repository that leaves the local workspace in an unsychronized state. i just replace the components with the latest from the stream (which restores the deleted file) and repeat the delete operation.

ciao!
