Time Series Dimension in Rational Insight

Naweed Jaulim (632732) | asked Jun 11 '13, 5:23 a.m.

All,

Is there an in-built time series dimension in the Rational Insight Reporting Data Model Data Warehouse?

or what is the best way of generating such a table for producing trended graphs(for requests as an example)

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Naweed

Hi Naweed, have you looked at the Date dimension?  It is pre-defined and will allow you to do trends at the year/quarter/month/week/date levels.  Hope this helps!

Hi Jackie,

This is what I was hoping to find, I am probably looking at the wrong place. I am using report studio and connecting to the DW model for the data.

Is this done using a data item in the report or should be readily available in the Reporting Data Model component? I could not seem to find any under the operational data store or the other components.

Thanks.
