Can we merge seperate servers onto one.

We currently have two servers, on two seperate domains. One RTC one QM, both at V4.

Is there a way we can place both these onto the same server?

Either by moving one to the other or create a new CLM server and combine them on there. I did wonder if the following steps would work :-

Create newt CLM server at identical level, with new set of databases.

Repotools export, b0th the QM adn CCM databases from the two respective servers.

Repotools import both into new.

Comments ideas?

For RQM, you can copy test resources to another server (assuming it's the same version) using the RQM Copy Utility.

Hi Mark,

you could refer to this article: https://jazz.net/library/article/818/
You'd need to check the "Non-supported data reorganization" section.

I assume CCM and QM are currently registered with 2 different JTSs. If you are looking to move CCM and QM into one JTS, it is not supported. The application cannot be moved from one JTS to another.

The customer changed there mind, now they simply want an aditional server installed on the same domain with QM and RM on, then connected to the current CCM server.

Basic steps, that I have tested on our servers are :-

  1. Install QM and RM on same domain.
  2. Discover URL.
  3. Test the discovery URL for QM.
  4. Process succeeds.
  5. Log into the Administration page of the Jazz Team Server by pointing your web browser to: https://<hostname>:9443/jts/admin
  6. Click the Server tab.
  7. In the left pane, in the Configuration section, click Registered Applications.
  8. In the Registered Applications section, click Add.
  9. In the Add Application window, type this information about your application:
    • Application Name for the application - It must be unique among all applications registered with the Jazz Team Server.
    • Discovery URL - The service contribution resource (SCR) URL for the application. In general, for the Discovery URL, add /scr to the end of the public URL of the application. For example, if the public URL for the Change and Configuration Management application is https://<hostname>:9443/ccm, the corresponding SCR URL is https://<hostname>:9443/ccm/scr.
    • Application Type - After you type the Discovery URL, wait a few moments and the Jazz Team Server will detect the type of application that you are registering.
    • Consumer Secret Type - The consumer secret for the application that you are registering to use. The Jazz Team Server will automatically generate a consumer key.
    • Functional User ID - After you type the Discovery URL, the application will suggest a functional user ID. Type the user ID of the functional user that will perform background tasks. The Jazz Team Server will automatically suggest a user ID, or you can click Browse and search for an existing one. The functional user ID does not have to exist in the external registry; if the user doesn't exist in the repository, it will be automatically be created.
  10. Click Finish.
  11. After you register with the Jazz Team Server, if necessary configure the application. To do so, in the message that confirms that you've registered the application, click Application Setup Wizard. You will have to provide or confirm the database settings, finalize the configuration, and link the application to the Lifecycle Project Administration application so that all applications registered with the Jazz Team Server can share project areas. Not all applications require additional configuration. The following steps are for the setup wizard for a CCM or QM application:
    • In the Configure Database page for the application, provide or confirm the database connection. Click Test Connection, and then click Next.
    • In the Configure Data Warehouse page for the application, confirm the database connection, click Test Connection, and then click Next.
    • In the Finalize Application page, click Finalize Application Setup. Verify that Finalize completes without error and the Next button is enabled. Click Next.
    • On the Summary page, verify that there are no errors.

Many thanks for all the responses.
