Can I have multi-iteration plans on one iteration plan?

I am able to create two iteration plans from the same iteration for two components. But I found one issue: the work items I added to one plan also show up in the default Defect & Enhancement folder of the other plan. And I can't delete the default Top and Defect & Enhancement folders.

How do I remove work items from one plan, or move them from one plan to another plan? I know I can move them around different folders in the sam plan.

This is by design. Understand a plan as a work item query with a rich
presentation. The capture is the selected team area and iteration.
Hence, if you create two plans for the same iteration and team area the
same items will be included, namely those that are planned for the
respective iteration and belong to a category that is associated with
the team area.
