Insight integration with FocalPoint troubleshooting

Timur Markunin (6495165145) | asked Mar 26 '13, 6:59 a.m.
 Hello,

I'm trying to integrate Insight 1.1.1 and FocalPoint 6.5.2.2

I use focalpoint.xdc from Insight installation. I've changed xdc file with XML Data Configuration tool so connection test has passed.

I've tried to run FocalPoint job stream in DataManager but it returns:

It looks like the system cannot find your XDC file.  Since 'hasMore' is FALSE it looks like there are no matches found, can you check the ODBC connection and make sure it's valid?

 Hi Jackie!

Thanks for your response!  It looks like ODBC connection is OK but focalpoint.xdc looks strange.

I've tried to modify data mapping template for Business Needs and Project templates.
There is no XML Schema loaded.

Maybe I need different xdc file for FocalPoint6.5.2 or manually edit mapping information for these elements? F.e. I have '/ns:elementCollection/ns:Business_Needs' for Business Needs.

-Thanks in advance

Timur, are you using an OOTB Focal Point workspace or have you made customizations?   We have a completely custom workspace so we have not used the pre-defined XDC files.  We use Insight Configuration Manager to generate a new XDC file for our workspace, although I'm not sure if that makes sense for your team.

Jackie,

I'm using OOTB Insight catalog that contains folder with Focal Point jobs and focalpoint.xdc from RRDI Development tools installation folder.

Could you please point me to the instructions on XDC generation for FocalPoint?

-thanks in advance

Have you customized Focal Point at all?   If you have not, you shouldn't need to use Configuration Manager, the OOTB XDC file should work just fine.
