What Data Source Schema shall I use in RPE to connect to RRC

RRC 4.0.1
RPE 1.1.2.2
Hi there
I've already adapted some reports and worked with REST data sources for RTC. But not always knowing what I did :-)

For the next Report I decided to go first trough the Tutorials from IBM (for 3.0.1)
And after a few pages I'm already puzzled

I read: From Data Menu select" Add Data Source..." Create a new Generic XML (DO NOT use type REST)

Is this still valid? If yes.. why?

Thanks
erwin

 Hi Erwin,
That is still valid, although REST should work fine, Generic XML is recommended because of the way it internally works in RPE.
Using REST tells RPE that some functionality like requesting specific elements in the request is available. It won't affect your report but will cause some unnecessary processing of parameters in the request URLs. The time spent with this parameters is almost imperceptible but we know it's there.

This is the reason why Generic XML is recommended
