AIX: How to migrate just one of four WAS profiles ?

Kenneth Munch (13522124) | asked Mar 25 '13, 3:49 a.m.
It's probably dead-easy, but we've been staring at this for a while now.

We're on AIX, with DB2, WAS, and CLM 3.0.1.3.
There are 4 Application Servers running on WAS. All CLM.
We have CLM 4.0.1 installed, and would like to migrate using the script:

cd opt/IBM/JazzTeamServer/Server/ ./upgrade/jts/jts_upgrade.sh -oldJTSHome old_JTS_install_dir/server/conf

How do I specify which Application Server to migrate ?. I only want to migrate one of the 4 Application Servers.

Hi Kenneth,

Can you describe the deployment in a bit more detail? You said you have 4 application servers on WAS. Does that mean you are running on the enterprise topology with one application per server? And as for your question, are you looking to only upgrade JTS for the time being?

Hi Christian,

We have one WAS, with 4 profiles / Application Servers.
Each Application Server runs CLM (all four JTS+CCM+RM+QM).
We would like to migrate one Application Server from 3.0.1.3 to 4.0.1 (already installed). This; for JTS+CCM+RM+QM.

Hi Kenneth,

In that case you should also have 4 separate full CLM installations on the local disk (and for each application server you have set JAZZ_HOME to point to one of the four installations). That said, once you determined which installation you want to update, navigate to that installation's directory and run the upgrade scripts from there, this will leave the others untouched.
