Firefox 3.6.23 packaged as a "Vapp" in a Windows XP vmware view session

Problem:
Editing graphical artifacts using the RRC plugin for Firefox doesn't work as expected in the vmware vsphere view system.

Instead of the iframe with the diagram opening in the original browser window it opens in a new window. It is possible, albeit painful, to interact with the new window and add diagram elements etc. You can also click on 'Done' in the original window and keep going, but the new iframe window does not go away until you exit Firefox.

I realize this is likely a very specific issue. vmware are digging in on their side, but I thought I'd share here and see if anyone has any "me too" responses or suggestions.
