Hi,

I am receiving the error in step 4: Assign Users when trying to import the Microsoft project plan into RTC.
Error is " invalid uuid []".

Please help

I get the exact same error - step 4 - when trying to import the MS Project plan saved in xml format; currently using RTC v4.0. I would be interested to know what the resolution is and if there is a work around like massaging data to get this working. Opened a PMR with IBM but they are unable to help as they cannot recreate the issue/error.

As Karl pointed out this is a known defect, fortunately both of the linked workitems have been resolved in 4.0.3 if your experiencing them on this version reopen the relevant defect and we'll make sure to address it right away.

Hi Madhu

I am using RTC 4.0.1. And I was getting this error when I try to use IE9.

There is no error when I use IE 8 or Chrome 23. In this post, https://jazz.net/forum/questions/91906/cerrtain-users-get-uuid-when-saving-work-item-after-changing-a-specific-field-only they say it is a browser issue and so I tried in Chrome and it proceeds successfully.

No changes have been done to the xml ..

Only solution is to try with the different browser.

Hi Pancha -

Thanks for your response and I tried different browsers IE 9, IE 8 (currently using IE 9) and FireFox 16.0.2 but same error. The only thing left for me to try would be upgrading from RTC v4.0 to RTC v4.0.1 and see if that helps.

Please make sure that the names listed in the plan exist in the RTC project

Pancha Gyaneswari Yelika commented Jan 04 '13, 12:27 a.m.

For me it worked in IE8 with RTC V4.0 also

Actually, I have installed RTC 4.0 on my desktop and it works. And on the server we have RTC 4.0.1

Suresh, the names in the plan need not exist in the RTC project. We can map the users at Step 4.

Hi all -

Were you able to find a solution for the UUID error?  We recently upgraded to 4.01 and I have been unable to import an xml file from MS Project getting the same UUID error.  I have tried both IE9 and IE8 browsers and Firefox 19.02

Denise, try Firefox 10 ESR (explicitly supported) or Chrome (not formally supported but usually works great with RTC). One of those might work for you. On a Mac, you can also try Safari 5.1.

There seems to be a couple defects related to this:
https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Rational%20Team%20Concert#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=261599
https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Rational%20Team%20Concert#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=218016

I searched the defect quick search for xml invalid uuid import and got a number of hits that might also be related.
