Migrating from One Jazz server to another 4.0

Dan Evans (392810) | asked Dec 05 '12, 9:47 a.m.
 Hi,

We're currently running RQM 4.0 on a tactical box (don't ask).  We have RTC and RRC on it but we're only just starting to use these.

We're running a unix, db2 and was installation.  To this end the software stack should be identical.

The dns name will be different for the new server.

The critical bit ensuring that the Test artefacts and Test evidence and results are migrated over.

What are my options of migrating all the RQM data to this new server?

Many thanks,

Dan.

 Dan,
For an ‘exact’ copy of the data, the Server Rename functionality would be something you should consider; I would recommend upgrading to 4.0.1 prior to performing a Server Rename
These are two articles that will give you a good overview of the subject

Another potential option would be the RQM Copy utility; this utility allows you to copy data from one RQM project to another; however, this is not an ‘exact’ copy. There are limitations on what can be copied; so depending on your needs this may or may not be suitable for your situation. You can read more about the utility here:

Dan,
There is also information about server rename in the Information Center at http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v4r0m1/topic/com.ibm.jazz.install.doc/topics/c_redeploy_server.html.
