How does the ordering happens of RRC Collection Reports?

Sabuj Samanta (2321012) | asked Oct 30 '12, 8:54 a.m.
We are generating RRC reports using our custom templates (built on RPE). While generating reports for Collections we are not getting the report in a definite order of the artifacts. The artifacts are printed in the report in a random order. Is there a way to control the ordering and sort the artifacts based on some attributes/types?

Hi Sabuj,
There is no way to specify the order of the elements from RRC at this time. There is an enhancement request to allow this but has not been implemented yet

Thanks Edgar for your response.
I understand that we can not specify the order in current implementation. Is the default ordering done based on some attribute or does it pick up randomly?

For collections they should be loaded in the same order they were added to the collection.

FYI: I know this does not help now but in an upcoming release we will be introducing modules

A module is a structured document that is composed of multiple artifacts. You can create structure in a module by modifying the order and hierarchy of its artifacts.

This might help you as an alternative to organizing a collection.
