External merge tool

Hi,

How can I use external merge tool in RTC for per-file basis? For example I want to set a third party merge tool to evoke by default for all the .mdl files only. is it possible in RTC?

I went to "External Compare Tools" in the preferences. But I am not able to figure out how to set an external merge tool for a specific file types. The arguments are not very self explanatory there. It looks like the new settings will be used for all the file type by default. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I don't think that is possible. Probably the best thing is to switch back and forth, depending on what you want to compare. I'm not using their compare tool at all.
