Jazz first time authentication having WAS with LDAP realm

Alberto Teodoro (6632638) | asked Aug 20 '12, 5:22 a.m.

Hi,

I'm trying to configure WAS with LDAP realm but I had many problems. My system ifo are: CLM 4.0, WAS 7.0 fixpack 23, DB2 9.7 and SO Win Server 2008 R2.

Technical support advices me to configure WAS with LDAP beacause I was not be able to login to Jazz after installing on WebSphere by using default ADMIN/ADMIN.

I took a look in the Jazz Library and I also found this tip:

https://jazz.net/library/article/96

In this tip I read:"To avoid this issue, we will add at least one valid LDAP user as a Jazz repository contributor BEFORE configuring the security of Jazz on WebSphere Application Server using the Jazz setup WEB UI interface under User management tab."

My question is: how can I add at least this one valid LDAP user BEFORE configuring the security of Jazz on WebSphere Application Serve, if I'm not able to access to WEB UI, beacuse default login ADMIN / ADMIN does not work?.

Thank you very much in advance

Alberto

Hi Alberto,
I think the sentence is not quite exact. You don't use the Jazz Web UI to configure WAS Security.

When you use LDAP, the default ADMIN user is not defined in your LDAP. The first thing you have to do is to create (or use an existing) admin user in your LDAP. This user must be member of the LDAP group mapped to the JazzAdmin role.

Then you must use this new user (instead of ADMIN) on the set up login screen. You may be required to deletes cookies to access the login screen.
