Time estimation on CLM_all ETL job

Amir Ghaemian (4811315) | asked Aug 06 '12, 10:21 a.m.
Hi

We have a CLM installation with a DB of 50GB. I need to try and estimate how long it would take to do a first initial full ETL of the data to the Insight DW using the ootb ETL job.

I know that you probably need more info than just DB size to estimate this and would like to know what more type of info I would need?

Also is there anyone that have done such estimations and how to calculate it?

P.S. I don't need very precise estimations rough ones are good enough.

thanks
Amir

 Amir,

We have a 16Gb database and it took around 26 hs (JTS and CCM).  Of course it also depends on the hardware you have. We have two servers, one for the application and the other for the database. The hardware of both servers is:

Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU   X5650  @ 2.67GHz, Dual 6 Core
RAM 8Gb

Hope it helps you.

Regards,

This will also depend on where you're running the ETL from - I've found the Windows ETL to be 2x faster than the equivalent ETL on Linux so I'd recommend using Windows, particularly for a full load.
