Error during "install" phase:
Deleting files from C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\java\.
Failed to delete C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\java\.\bin\msvcr100.dll

When I try to Install WAS 8.0 to WAS 8.0.0.3 I get the above error... Any one has faced this problem...

There are usually two reasons you can't delete a file:
  1. You don't have permissions
  2. The file is currently in use
For option 1, which version of Windows are you using? If you're on Server 2008+ you'll need to run the installer as an administrator because the program files directory is virtualised.

For option 2 make sure you've shut-down the WAS application and then check the task manager and manually terminate any remaining java.exe processes.
