scm lastmod

hi
I am trying to use scm lastmod command.
I put in something like this:
scm lastmod -d <my> -u <user> -P <pwd> /
it does return something like this:
/<remote>=201112090137
and no matter how i change remote directory it always returns the same date.
am i doing something wrong?
another question, how can i find out the last modification date on the remote path if i don't have local path? web UI can show it, but can scm show it as well?
Thanks
