Difference between "Plain Zips" and "IM Repos

I'm installing RTC client.
I want to know what is different between "Plain Zips" and "Installation Manager Repositories".

Does anyone know this?

With Plain Zips, you can download and simply unzip it and start to run it.
With "Installation Manager Repositories", you need to point your IM (Installation Manager) to this and install via IM. If you didn't have IM installed, you need to install IM first.
