Upgrading RQM and migrating to DB2 in a different server

Hi to all!
I've some doubts about the activities in "Subject". My scenario is:
I've Jazz Team Server and Quality Manager 2.0.1.1 fix4 with Derby on a server, called server A.
Now I have to use a new server, called server B. On B I've to install Jazz Team Server 3.0.1.3, Quality Manager 3.0.1.3 and Team Concert 3.0.1.3 with DB2 as database.
So I have to upgrade and to migrate to a different database in a new machine. I know that I have to use Repotools to export and then import old data, I know that in the new installation I've to change teamserverproperties to reference separate databases in DB2, but my doubts are about the public URI. In the new installation I should modify URI (that contains the fully qualified name of machine), because it is a new machine! But on documentation I've read that the URI shouldn't change during the upgrading process, because otherwise in the new QM I can't properly use the old test cases created with the older version.
I think that I'm wrong in something! Where do I understand badly? Help me please!!!

Thanks in advance
S.

my understanding of your problem is, the URL of your server B is like, MyHostName, but you want other machine to access it so you want to change to add a domain like MyHostName.ibm.com?
but the document says don't change URL so you don't know what to do, is that right?
if so. yes, don't change the URI unless reinstall server B. And if the client to access server is in the same local area network. I suggest to add server/ip map to the client's hosts file.
in windows it usually at System32\drivers\etc folder.
hope this will help.

Thanks for your help! But I think I have to explain better: I have to install a new server on machine B in an updated version, the 3.0.1.3 one! The old installation uses a URI like hostname_machineA:9443/jazz, in the new installation on the machine B can I change the URI in a new one like hostname_machineB:9443/jazz? and then import by repotools the old testcases done with Quality Manager 2.0.1.1?
The hostname should be resolved by DNS. You suggest to add server/ip map to the client's hosts file, and so is DNS bypassed?

@simonaciardi,
RQM has a copyutil tool
https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/RQMCopyUtility
which used to copy artifact from one project area to another. if you are using a single RQM server with no RRC requirement. I think you can have try with this tool.
