Deploying Insights apps on WAS 8

Anyone know if you can use WebSphere App Server 8 for deploying Insight applications?

We've been looking at upgrading our current Insight 1.0.1.1 environment to 1.1, and maybe moving to WAS 8 at the same time. I was able to install the IBM Cognos application OK, but when I tried the INSIGHThelp.war file I got;

"The EAR file could be corrupt and/or incomplete. Make sure that the application is at a compatible Java(TM) Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE) level for the current version of WebSphere(R) Application Server.

java.lang.RuntimeException: Deploying INSIGHThelp.war failed."

This is on a 32-bit Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 box.

Hi Derek

Websphere App Server 8 is not a supported app server for Insight 1.1. We did not attempt or test such a configuration. We will support WAS 8 for our next Insight release though.

We'll just stick with WAS 7 for now then.
