System Architect and Visio Imports

Tim Johnson (111) | asked Apr 05 '12, 1:06 p.m.
Is it possible to import models from system architect and/or Visio so they are useable in the modeling portion of composer, and not just static images?

It's not possible in the current version of RRC, or in the version planned for 2012.
Feel free to add your voice to the enhancement request open for Visio import. I don't know if one is open already for System Architect import; feel free to open one if you cannot find it. In both cases it would help if you include the reasons this would be valuable to you.

Here are some options that are available today:
    * As you indicate, you can import and link to images (jpeg, png, etc) or PDFs.
    * Additionally you can import a Visio file and store it in RRC, and link to it, including it in review and approval workflows, etc. But each user would need a Visio reader to see the models.
    * If your goal is to create documents that include models from System Architect and requirements information from RRC, you can use the Rational Publishing Engine to create a document template with data sources from both products.

Can you copy and paste parts of a visio diagram like a task or decision box?
