Setup RTC and CCM to use different databases

I am looking into setting up RTC with CCM and have the source code stored in ccm use a separate database than the RTC installation. I want them to cooperate as if they were configured to connect to a single database. How can I accomplish this?

Actually RTC is CCM.

They already use the same database.

A colleague sent me a link to an article that outlines the setup I am looking into: https://jazz.net/library/article/535

The setup I am looking at it 2 instance of RTC installed and setup as friends but it may require some fine tuning down the road.
