Use of Hardware Load Balancers with CLM 3.0.1

Derek Moyle (154) | asked May 25 '12, 12:27 p.m.
Hi,
Has anyone tried to use hardware load balancer with the CLM tools? I would be interested in your experiences

What we are proposing is to deploy 4 WAS servers (one each for JTS, RM, CCM & QM) fronted by 2 IBM HTTP Servers. The plan is to split the load between the 2 HTTP Servers via a hardware load balancer so that if one fails the system is still available.

If anyone is using this successfully, was any special configuration required on the load balancer to make sure the session information was correctly routed?

In theory what you describe should be possible, but I haven't seen this tested for real. Mostly used sofware there, such as WAS Edge load balancer.

Philippe,

wouldn't load balancing require clustering? Since this is only supported with 4.0 I would assume it would only be feasible for 3.0.1 for a failover solution. Or am I missing something?
