Ensuring common testphase entries across test plans

Wayne Belshaw (14887) | asked Jan 06 '12, 1:18 p.m.
Hello,

I wish to confirm that if a user creates "identical" test schedule entries inside RQM GUI for each of several test plans, that RQM considers each of those "identical" items to be different from a report point-of-view?

This can be confirmed by observing one of the built-in reports. If I have two plans with one common testphase (call it Alpha), then there will be TWO Alpha entries in the report setup. This is not wanted.

I'd like to confirm that if I use the API to create a named resource called Alpha that I can link that resource to all Test Plans and achieve a single common test schedule for all test plans?

Thank you.

Unfortunately, a test schedule (or test phase) cannot be shared across test plans.

That said, you may be interested in the new process timelines/iterations plan item coming in RQM 4.0 (see https://jazz.net/jazz02/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/54350) that will support reusing iterations/phases across test plans.
