How to add work item type to the defects action bar ?

Shmuel Bashan (4166) | asked Dec 02 '11, 4:56 a.m.
Is there a way to define which work item types will show up in the Defects menu in the top action bar ?
RQM v3 shows only: Create Defect and Create task.
I have a new work item type which I would like to add to the list
Thank you.

Unfortunately, no. However, you can map the workitem types in RTC (see http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v3r0m1/topic/com.ibm.team.workitem.doc/topics/t_defining_cmtype_witype_mapping.html).

Doesn't it seem a little counterintuitive when you have to select "Defects" to look at other work items such as Project Change Requests? Is there any plan to improve this functionality in future releases? Tx

Agreed. Please feel free to open a defect (https://jazz.net/jazz02/web/projects/Rational%20Quality%20Manager#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.newWorkItem).
