Error installing Insight's Report & ETL server on Win 7-

In installing Insight 1.0.1.1 on Windows 7 Enterprise , 64-bit, I am hitting the following error.
Error during "install" phase:
Error executing "C:\Program Files\IBM\Rational Insight/cognos/bin/C8SE_config_C8.bat" operation (status=2).
In particular I am installing the Report & ETL Server pieces and am installing with (or into) an existing WAS v7 instance at Fix Pak 19 (7.0.0.19)
In the install log file it has the following:

ADMU0116I: Tool information is being logged in file C:\Program
Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\RationalReport\logs\RationalReportServer\stopServer.log
ADMU0128I: Starting tool with the RationalReport profile
ADMU3100I: Reading configuration for server: RationalReportServer
ADMU0509I: The server "RationalReportServer" cannot be reached. It appears to
be stopped.
ADMU0211I: Error details may be seen in the file: C:\Program
Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\RationalReport\logs\RationalReportServer\stopServer.log

But there is no such profile "RationalReportServer" in existence.
Any ideas?

Insight 1.0.1.1 does not support server installation on Windows 7 officially.

As for the issues you mentioned, the installation manager deletes installed stuff such as "RationalReportServer" profile when it encounter errors. To prevent the roll back of IM, you can set InstallOperation/pause.on_error=true in log.properties and launch IM by ibmimc. IM log, WAS log, Cognos log and cogstartup_timestamp.xml are necessary for further investigation.
