How to get source code lines for a change set

Hi,
I am using RTC3.0, if the REST service provides the capability that I will get how many source code changed for an defect? Or any SCM API I can invoke to get it?
Currently in the RTC client, double click to open the change set related to the defect, for example, test.java file changed, then open compare text editor, I can manually count how many code changed.
