Deploying RAM to an app server (not cluster) on WAS ND

Is it possible to do this? When I deploy RAM Setup to an app server running on WAS ND, it only recognizes the server as a candidate for RTC deployment, but not RAM.

When RAM is deployed on a WAS ND.
You have to create at least one cluster for RAM and an app server for RTC.
I would recommend creating a cluster (just with one app server) for RAM

Hi Rajasimhan,

I understand the standard deployment recommendation. I'm just trying to determine if (and why) RAM Setup specifically mandates use of a cluster under WAS ND.

Yes, RAM Setup requires the use of cluster under WAS ND.
Part of it is historical, RAM install instructions (before Setup was created) always said to deploy on a cluster. So when Server setup was created to deploy RAM, it put RAm on a cluster.
RAM probably did this to make RAM highly available by taking advantage of clustering.
