We have persist, index and local folder on the same file system. Is it possible to place the index folder on some other file system now?

Following are our observations on the performance of RAM instances on zLINUX :

1. The performance to initially log in to the RAM as an user as well as an admin is very poor.
2. The response times to navigate/switch between pages is very poor.
3. There is a significant improvement in performance when the server is rebooted. I have noticed that the RAM gets filled up over time and as the RAM fills up the performance degrades.
4. The performance issue is not due to the lack of resources on the server. We have followed all the recommendations. Actually, the servers have been build keeping in mind the minimum requirements and they are well beyond minimum requirements. The RAM databases are also on different machines.
5. The performance of all the RAM instances on AIX is very good.

Can anybody please help us in resolving these performance issues

Yes it is possible. Make sure RAM is down, then move the contents of the

indexes over to the new location (that way you won't need to have them
recreated). Then using server setup point to the new location. Then
start RAM. It should now pick up where it left off.

If you didn't care and just wanted the indexes to be recreated then
don't bother copying them. Just point to the new location and RAM will
rebuild them the next time it comes up.

You say that perf. on zLinux is poor, and good on AIX.

What are the deployment differences between the two instances,

e.g., RAM version, lic. server connectivity, clustering/singleton, DB connectivity, disk distribution, RTC connectivity ... ?

Do you see anything in the logs (you can see the log from Administration -> Tools -> ramDebug.log)
