Recover accidentially archived items

Thomas Starz (1812015) | asked Jul 08 '08, 5:06 p.m.
As I am playing with it, I create many artifacts (iteration plans, work items, project settings, etc.). Some of them become obsolete because I change my mind... looking for a 'delete': not there :-(
Then I archive the things, filling up my database with waste... sometimes I archive too much. How can I recover from that? Un-archive is not possible. Create the item again is not possible either, because the old one still exists. What should I do?

If it's a project area, you can always create another with the same name
by renaming the archived area. To see archived project areas in the Team
Organization view, toggle the "Show Archived" button in the view toolbar.

So are you saying that neither delete nor un-archive is possible?

Correct. In RTC 1.0, the only artifacts that support unarchiving are users.

In case that helps in your case: work item categories and releases can be unarchived too.

Does anybody know if 2.x will support additional archive/un-archive features?
Thanks

I can comment in the Jazz Process space.
We remain with unarchive support only for users.

I am running 2.0.0.1 and would really like to either "unarchive" a project or create a copy of an archived project. Is there any way to do this? Including unsupported methods?

Also, it would be slick to eventually be able to fully delete archived items. I realise there are referential integrity issues that can arise with that scenario. Is there a WI to which I can add my "me too"?

Regarding projects , it is still not possible to unarchive an archived project . The enhancement request is tracked in this work item - https://jazz.net/jazz/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/60325.

Creating a copy of an archived project is also not supported.
