Data warehouse database

I'm going through an install/upgrade of rational products to version 3. In reviewing the documentation, it states that a data warehouse database needs to be created, but doesn't really explain the name or it's purpose or how it relates to installing RRDI.

In RQM 2.x with Rational common Reporting, we had two databases, RICM (content store) and RIDW (the actual data warehouse). Is the data warehouse referred to in the instructions the RIDW database?

Starting in 3.0.1, a separate database is required for the data warehouse. This database (called RIDW by default) is used by both the out-of-the-box reporting (such as BIRT reports in RTC and RQM) as well as by RRDI as a source for data. If you are upgrading from RQM 2.x with RCR, you can/should reuse your existing RIDW: if you point the CLM 3.0.1 setup wizard to your existing RIDW database, it will upgrade the tables to the latest schema when you press "Create Tables".

The RICM database is still required but only if you use RRDI; it is not part of the base CLM install.

Let me know if you need further information on this.

Along the same line, I just upgraded CLM 3.0.1 to 3.0.1.2. My initial setup did not really tell me how to set up the Database Warehouse. I am using ORACLE

I did not edit the initial strings to set up the warehouse in the teamserver.properties files. Now I need to set that up.

Are there any instructions on the process to set this up? Do I need to create the tablespace first then run any repotools like we do for the original database setup, or is this automatic?

Any help would be appreciated.
