Unable to add custom attribute(boolean) as require attribute

I am currently running RTC 3.0.1 client - no patch on Windows 7.

I have created custom attribute (boolean) successfully. I am able to view the attribute on work item interface. I would also like to configure boolean attribute to be required attribute. (eg I would like my custom attribute (boolean) to be required in Story -> in progress state), however it does not show up in the list.

I have created attributes in different type (HTML and others) and I was able to add them as required attribute. I have not tested with all types, but so far boolean seem to be only type which I am not able to add as required attribute.

I have tried to change the process source code, which I was able to add custom attribute (boolean) as well, then I could not utilize required attribute at all.

Could you please tell me if I will need to raise defect or Enhancement request to address this issue?

DH,
a boolean attrib has 2 values - true / false.
Whatever the default value, it has always a value,
so this makes no sense to me to make it required.

So I would say: as designed
