Question on Test Environments when Running a Test Case

Andrew Trobec (49713144139) | asked Sep 30 '11, 3:27 a.m.
Hello Everyone!

I am using RQM 2.0.1_iFix5.

I have created 6 test evironments of which 2 have been assigned to a test plan under the "Test Environments" section. I have a test case and a manual test script associated with this test plan.

When I run the test case from the "Test Cases" section of the test plan, I get the "Run Test Case" popup where I can select the test environment. The strange thing is that the list consists of all 6 test environments even though I have only associated 2 of them to the test plan!

Is this normal?

Thank you in advance!

Best regards,

Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Essentially this dialog allows you to create new Test Case Execution Record, where you can also select Test plan other then the current selection. I think it is good to limit context to the test plan when run dialog comes from Test case section of test plan.
In general you should create Testcase Execution Record in advance and then in the run dialog select the TER rather creating a new  one.
