Rank by epic

Robert Palazzo (622) | asked Sep 09 '11, 9:53 a.m.
As a Product Owner, I want to view a plan grouped by epic so that I can rank stories within the epic.

The current (RTC3) Planned Items web page allows me to specify a "Group" parameter. The Group options are: Category, Folder, Iteration, Owner, Planned Time, Priority, Tags, & Teams. I'd like "Epic" added to that list so that work items can be grouped by their parent epic. It would be great if the display would show nested epics with multiple levels of twisties. But I'd settle for a flat listing of epics showing only their immediate children.

Have you tried the "work breakdown" plan type? That structures the
display hierarchically, which I believe is what you are looking for.

Geoff, after some minor tweaking I was able to get the "Work Breakdown" view to do what I want.

Thanks for your help!
