Nested releases in iterations

Hi all,

In RTC 3.0 we use build-in Iterations as "Planned for" attribute and Releases as "Found in build" for Defect work item.
But if we need to create query for all work items "found in Iteration", we need to remember which builds\releases (and there are many of them) are corresponding to particular Iteration. Also it's impossible to create custom report because there's no formal matter.
It feels like common use case, am I missed something in RTC features? What's the best practices for using custom\built-in entities to maintain links between builds and whole iteration?

Thank you, guys for any replies.
