How to prevent users from being searched

Hi,

Please give me a suggestion about following thing.

When adding subscriber to a work item, clicking "Add", then "Select Users" dialog shows up.
Then, if entering "*", all users show up in the dialog.

In the users, built-in users such as ccm_user, jts_user, ADMIN show up along with other users.

Is there a way to prevent those users from showing up "Select Users" dialog?

I'm thinking archiving those users may be one way.
Is it ok?

Meanwhile I think archiving those users may cause a problem as those users are not normal users.

I did some test about this.

As far as I have tested, if those built-in users are archived, some functions don't work properly.

Is it right?

These built-in users are actively used by the underlying components, so
you definitely do not want to archive them.

Geoff

Hi Geoff

Thank you for your answer :)

The reason why I'm asking this question is that I want to prevent that those users show up in "Select Users" dialog of adding subscriber to a work item.

Could you give me any suggestion about it?

That is a very reasonable thing to want to do, but as far as I know, not
something you can currently do. I've submitted work item 175975 ("Do
not show administrative users in the user selection lists.") for this.

Geoff
