Is RTC 3.0.1 able to access the data repository of RTC 3.0?
I am going to upgrade RTC from 3.0 to 3.0.1. Somebody told me that 3.0.1 cannot access the database of previous versions after I upgrade, I have to create a new repository and take export/import to move project data from the current repository to the new repository. Is it true? I think that RTC would be too stupid if this was true.
One answer
Your question would need to be a bit more specific. For example, are
you asking whether you can use a 3.0 RTC client to access a 3.0.1 RTC
server? If so, the answer is, yes you can.
Or are you asking whether, when upgrading an RTC-3.0 server to be an
RTC-3.0.1 server, there is a phase that changes the format of the
database tables? If so, the answer is yes, for several reasons, such as
the separation in 3.0.1 of the JTS from the CCM application. Think of
it as a mechanism to upgrade the internal database tables.
Cheers,
Geoff
