change owner of component, project user list blank

Anthony Giordano (2762615) | asked Jul 09 '11, 10:33 p.m.
A new project was setup with 30 plus users. Following that, an SVN import
completed successfully to a number of components. When the import user tried
to change the owner of one of these components that they created from the
project to a user, the project did not list any users under the new project.

Anyone know why this would happen and how to fix?

TIA

Just to clarify - the new project, when opened in the either the Eclipse or Web client, does show the team members. But the pick list for changing owners of components shows only the project area name without any "twistie" to the left to click to cause any team member list underneath to show.

A similar test project, set up essentially identically, does show the twistie and when expanded, the team members (of that project).

I did some experimenting with the Eclipse client, and in my experiments,
the team members of a project/team area were given as a choice only if
that project/team area had a child team area.
I've submitted work item 171109 on that issue.
Could this be what you are encountering?

That could be it - because we did not set up child team areas. I'll give this a try.

I added a dummy team area, and that seemed to do the trick - the members are now showing in the pick list.
