Parent and child workitems in RTC

Narayanan Potti (27037279) | asked Apr 14 '11, 11:55 a.m.
Hi everyone

I am currently on RTC 2.0.0.2 iFix 2. I would like to know if the concept of parent and child workitem is supported in RTC, similar to how child records are spwaned in ClearQuest. We have a completely customized workitem type from which we would like to create child workitems of type Task.

I couldn't find this information in RTC 2.0.0.2 infocenter. If it is supported in RTC 3.0 I can recommend doing the upgrade.

Thank You
NP

Yes, there has always been a work item child relationship in RTC. There
are a variety of ways of creating and modifying child relationships.
Probably the easiest is in the plan. For example, if you are in a
hierarchical view mode, you can drop a work item on top of another work
item to make it be a child.

Cheers,
Geoff

you know there are also some nice features also added. Like if there are 3 child WI are linked with one parent WI. Untill unless you dont close the child WI, you cant close the parent one. Similarly you can also create the query to see the each parent/child WI status. Many conditions you can apply so in RTC 3.0
