Ask a question

The server you are connecting to is older than the client

Sridhar Annadata (2642) | asked Mar 18 '11, 12:25 p.m.
Here are my Client and server versions
Client:
Version: 3.0
Build id: RTC-I20101112-1731

Server:
Build Information
Change and Configuration Management - Core Libraries 3.0 (RTC-I20101112-1731)
Jazz Foundation - Core Libraries 3.0 (RJF-I20101112-0630)

To me they look same. But while connecting from client, I get and error
"The server you are connecting to is older than the client and not compatible"

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Sridhar A

Hello Sridhar,

try the following in the RTC eclipse client:

go to Window > Preferences > Network Connections:

change to Active Provider to "Direct".

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21456812

Regards,

Jorge.

Hi Jorge,

Thank you for your reply. But unfortunately even after trying your suggestion it did not work. I am still getting the same error. I tried reopening the client and removed and added the repository connection after making the network connections change. Still same problem.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance,
Sridhar.

Greetings;

I am receiving this error when I attempt to use the CLI in 3.0.1. However, if I run the graphical eclipse interface I do not receive this error.

Is it possible to make the same adjustments to the CLI that are referenced above?

I am using the same installation to perform these commands.

Jon

Hello,

I found that adding the Jazz server address to the list of proxy exceptions also helps. (My Jazz server is hosted on the intranet, so going through proxy wasn't necessary)
